Entering the game on the back of a two-game skid, the Hokies were eager to reclaim their winning form and extend their unbeaten home record, having not lost at home since February 18, 2022.

However, the Hokies’ determination was on full display as they surged to a 5-3 lead by halftime, further extending their advantage to 6-3 in the third quarter.

The intensity escalated in the fourth quarter when the score was tied at 7-7. Auburn then capitalized on two man-up opportunities, taking a brief 9-7 lead with just 10 minutes remaining on the clock. Sensing the moment, Virginia Tech’s seniors stepped up in a decisive fashion. A crucial goal from senior Kyle Dickson, followed by a timely strike from senior Trevor Stocks, sparked a remarkable comeback. The Hokies’ defense held firm in the closing minutes to secure a memorable 10-9 victory.
