D1 Travels to Clemson for ALC Power Matchup

BLACKSBURG, VA – April 4, 2025 — The Virginia Tech Division I men’s lacrosse team is set for a high-stakes road matchup against Clemson University on Sunday, April 6 at 12:00 PM at the Clemson Rec Fields. With both teams having already secured spots in the Atlantic Lacrosse Conference (ALC) playoffs, this game promises to be a key battle in determining postseason seeding.

The Hokies, currently rounding into form during the final stretch of the regular season, are coming off several gritty performances that have positioned them as one of the top contenders in the conference. Sunday’s matchup will test their mettle against a Clemson team that has been dominant at home and is gaining steam as the playoffs approach.

This rivalry has grown more intense in recent seasons. Last year, Virginia Tech was able to fend off a hard-charging Clemson team in a back-and-forth contest. But this season, the Tigers are looking sharper, faster, and more cohesive—making this rematch one of the most anticipated games on the ALC calendar.

“We know Clemson’s going to bring their best,” said Virginia Tech head coach Panchito Ojeda. “They’re talented, well-coached, and playing with confidence. But so are we. These are the games we get excited for—the ones where playoff implications are on the line, and we get to measure ourselves against a top-tier team. We’re looking forward to the challenge.”

With playoff seeding and bragging rights on the line, fans can expect a physical, fast-paced contest from start to finish.
